Trinity College -the chapel is built on the site of the medieval chapel of Durham College and is the finest example of late 17th century architecture in Oxford. The gate tower is also the bell tower for the chapel.
The Radcliffe Camera – this is now a reading room for the Bodleian Library to which it is connected by a tunnel. The architect James Gibbs’ plan was for a rectangular building but he conformed to Hawksmoor’s original design for a domed circular library.
The Examination Schools, Tower of the Orders - the central three-storey clock tower in the open courtyard facing Merton Street is purely for show and has no doorway.
The Sheldonian Theatre – this was built in 1664–8 to a design modelled on the theatre of Marcellus in Rome, and was the first major work of Sir Christopher Wren
The Examination Schools - the main entrance, in the form of a Venetian window, faces the High Street.
Christ Church, Tom Tower - Tom Tower was designed by Christopher Wren to house Great Tom, the six and a half ton bell which used to hang in Osney Abbey until the Reformation.
Christ Church Cathedral - the central tower and spire date from the 13th century. It is one of Oxford’s first ‘dreaming spires‘.
Magdalene College - The Great Tower is one of the finest examples of Perpendicular gothic style. At 6am on May Morning the Magdalen Choir sings Hymnus Eucharisticus from the tower.
